India vs Bangladesh, ICC T20 World Cup 2016|23 March

India and Bangladesh clash in Bengaluru with India needing a win to keep their semi-final hopes alive in the World T20. Bangladesh, meanwhile, have been knocked out of the tournament after New Zealand defeated Pakistan on Tuesday.

The victory against Pakistan has been wildly celebrated. To be fair though, it was only the first step towards resurrecting India’s World T20 campaign that had threatened to go awry following the 79 all out in the tournament opener against New Zealand.

India and Bangladesh have become fierce rivals in the recent past and things won't be any different as they face off in Banglalore. The last time they played, it was the Asia Cup final.

India are climbing up the ladder in the tournament after their loss against New Zealand, which was rather unexpected. If the last game is any indication, the team are back to winning ways and it couldn’t have come at a better time or a bigger opposition. India are having some woes in the top order and that is something Bangladesh would have noted coming into the contest. Bangladesh have their own problems to deal with. Before the side could settle in, they have slumped to two defeats in as many games. They would have come out the Australia game thinking that they could have won the contest.

The Indian side are favourites in the contest and it is the first time the two teams face in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli is the difference between India winning and losing these days. The Delhi dasher is in sumptuous form and no bowler, ball or wicket looking beyond him. Bangladesh have been demoralised by the loss Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny, who are banned from the tournament after being guilty of having suspect bowling actions. The good part is that Mustafizur Rahman is back in the side and the Indians know only too well about what the wily pacer can do with his cutters.
